3. POOVIRUNDAVALLI-(Poonamallee)-SEVVAI-Angaraka-Mars
Poonamallee @ Poovirundhavalli - Sevvai - Mars
Thayal Nayagi Udanurai Vaitheesaran Koil ( Goddess named as Thayal Nayagi and the Shiva called as Vaideeswaran, is the Sevvai @ Angaraka Kshetram – (Mars) .
The temple is lavish, big and well maintained. Here the temple has a separate Sevvai Padam (legs) and a statue of the Sthala Vruksha Thaazhi Panai Maram (Thazhi Palm) and also 3 Chakrams which were established here by the Adi Shankara (Sri Chakram, Subramania Chakram, Shanmuga Chakram) near the Subramania Swami Sannidhi.
The munmandapam near the Shiva Shrine has beautiful carvings on the roof. The South entrance has some interesting sculptures on either side.
The temple tank needs to be cleaned.

I would like to visit this temple but dont know where it is (other than it is in poonamallee)> could you give me some information - address, phone no of the temple etc. we would like to do some abishegam etc and need to talk to some one in the temple for details.

While going to poonamallee, ask for Sivan Kovil Street, Vaitheeswaran Kovil, before bus stand. Anybody would guide you. Especially ask the flower vendors.

I visited this temple last week..very beautiful..worth a visit

I visited the Temple today, Maha Sivarathri Day, with my family. As others say it is a beutifull temple with beautiful carvings. The darshan of the three Chakkaras installed by Adhi Sankara is very invigorating.I hope I can visit the temple on SURYA POOJA DAYS next year

For those who visit to perform the Angaraka Sevvai, a noteworthy point is that the puja is performed on the 1st and the 3rd Tuesdays of every month at 1pm

There is a Hotel by name - Sadabhishekam in this place. Good one to stay and for Food as well.
This is place is about 250 Kms from Tamil Nadu.

You can consider staying in Hotel Sadabhishekam located close to the temple. This place is about 250 Kms by road. Route - Chennai - Dindivanam - Panruti - Sethiathoppu - Chidambaram Bye pass - Vaitheesawaran Koil. Careful about the brokers wandering around the temple.
